06/08/2011 - Striper Fishing on OOAL

Well, considering the insane striper bite that's been going on, I threw together a last minute trip aboard Out on a Limb with Captain JR on a quest for the big girls!
Unfortunately the striper bite died off severely since Monday, but JR was able to put us on a nice pod of fish for a awesome bass crush last night!

I'll let the pics do the talking...

Rich, the Asian Assassin, enjoying some Sun Chips before leaving the dock!

Jay, hangin loose and ready for some action!

The Mikes...possibly arguing over the Yankees and Mets...or who ties better knots...not sure which haha

Chris is ready to roll...coming up all the way from Maryland!

Mike is all smiles!

Jay, me, and Rich LOVE the big girls!

Captain JR arrives at the boat.

We head out to net some bunks...and make bait in short order with 100+ pieces in a few throws!

Then it's off to the fishing grounds and Jay starts things off right!

A short stint later and Rich hooks up with a good one!

Get em Quon!

Sexy girl in the net!

Nice fish buddy!

Gami hooks...getting cheaper? Hook failure!

A little scenery...

JR on the prowl for some more striped ones!

Well, what happened next happened quick...and there's only a few shots to capture the chaos as we all wanted in on the action!
Was definitely straight out of National Geographic with bass just corraling and swarming bunker, explosions everywhere, bunker just getting launched out of the water into the air...absolute chaos!
We kept our limit and played catch and release until after dark. No real big girls, Rich's fish was the biggest of the trip, but some great action toward the end!
Here's the only two shots I have of some of the fish we got during the madness! Fish were laying all over the deck at one point, 3-6 guys on at a time, simply awesome!

Playing with the camera at night...a little zoomed in shot of the Verrazano Bridge in the distance on the way in...

Back at the dock, a few fish pics of the ones we kept.

Great job by Captain JR to put us on the fish in some pretty tough conditions!
All around great time with a really cool group of guys.
Was great to fish with Rich and Jay again, and meet Mike and his friends Mike and Chris!

Now it's time to get ready for the Cape May Shark Tournament this weekend! Let's do it!
