04/28/2012 - Striper Fishing on OOAL
Well, another Saturday of striper fishing with the boys! This time Doug, his Dad, and Greg joined up with JR behind the helm to get in on the early bunker bite!
We headed out of Keyport aboard OOAL to start the search for bunker...with some pretty nippy conditions as night time temps dropped down into the mid to low 30s!
Feels like winter!

We cruise to the BUNKA area! "Joonya, that guys KILLIN ya! Yous shoulda been done already!"

First net finds a good patch of bunker!
JR says "Gimme the other net" while they deal with a tangle on the other one!
And a huge throw loads us up!
In short order we make bait and head for the fishing grounds! Doug and his Dad are set up anticipating the first bite on a livey!

Little while later I land my first keeper of the day!

Well recharged and ready for another battle...I pitch a livey out and land another nice one for the box!

Well another fun day aboard OOAL! Stripers cooperated nicely although the blues were fierce at times!
Had a great time despite the 5-10mph winds (read add 20mph to any forecaster's estimate)!!!
Cold morning but the temps and fishing warmed up nicely!
Not sure what my fishing plans on over the next two weeks, but I'll post back up with some pics whatever I decide to do! ;)
